One of the things I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older is that life has a way of compounding — stress compounds, worries compound, expectations compound. The weight we carry doesn’t stay the same size; it grows.
But there’s a verse that’s brought me a lot of peace through that: Isaiah 46:4. It’s a reminder that even into our old age, God cares for us.
Here’s the thing, though — most people read that verse and file it away as being for old age. Something to remember later, once you get there. But look closer at the wording: it says “even into your old age.” That’s not a verse pointing only to the future. It’s a promise that starts right now, wherever you are, and simply continues all the way through — into your old age and beyond.
Whatever season of life you’re in today, God cares for you. He’s taking care of you. And because God can’t break a promise, that care isn’t going anywhere. It’s not going to run out, expire, or apply only “later.” It applies now, and it’ll still apply decades from now.
So wherever you are in life today, take heart. God is with you — and He’s going to stay with you, every step of the way, even into your old age.
Until next time, take care, and God bless.
