Everybody goes through things in life. We all have to deal with things, filter things, see things, grow from things, and get past things. Some days, it’s really hard.
There’s one verse in the Bible that is sometimes the only thing I can hold on to in those tough moments. It’s not even the whole verse, just the first half of Psalm 46:10:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
That’s it. And some days, that alone is what gets me through.
When we pick up too much
Some days I try to take on too much. I pick up things I shouldn’t be picking up, things I shouldn’t be worrying about, talking about, or trying to solve. They’re things I know I have no control over.
On those days, I have to listen to that verse and simply stop. Some days I’ve got nothing else. Just stop, and be still.
What I want to leave you with
That’s what I want to encourage you with today. When you get to the point where you’re pushing and pulling and doing everything you think you should be doing, and part of you knows this is out of your control, remember the first half of that verse:
Be still, and know that He is God.
As always, I hope that helps. Until next time, take care and God bless. MJ
