Back in the 90s when I was a vocal performer I had a song called Ride the Rhythm. The basic premise of this entire song was around the analogy of waves at the ocean. Different circumstances in life come at us like big waves. We know it can hit us but so often we pretend all is good and don’t think another wave is coming. Sometimes the waves are fun, while other times we get pummeled by them. Either way we can’t stop the waves and it doesn’t serve us much just to stay safe on the shore. So why not SEE what kind of fun you can have with the SEA.
You can just stand in the ocean and that is fun, but the waves will keep coming. Sometimes they will be over your head while others they just pass you by. The other options is you can be like a surfer and grab whatever was given to you, climb on top, and go wherever they take you.

In the beginning you might and most likely will crash way more times than you ride. On the other hand, the one ride get will be thrilling. Never the less the waves keep coming. It’s ok to stay on shore for a while to rest. You have to from time to time. It is when we try to avoid the waves altogether we miss what life is offering.
So take a deep breath, grab whatever talent or skill you have (AKA your surfboard) and head out to the deep waters. Wait for right time, the right wave. Climb on top of that board and get going wherever the waves takes you. Do that over and over and you won’t’ feel like you missed out on anything. Ride the rhythm of life’s waves on whatever beach you are on in life.
